Adding and editing Chimneys scaffolds & Temporary roofs in Schedule IT

Please read the following before proceeding

Please note 3D models and scheduled Chimney Scaffolds and temporary roof scaffolds are only available in tube and fitting. For system scaffolds, please refer to the system scaffolding section by clicking here for more information.

Scheduling Chimney Stacks
  1. Adding the Chimney Scaffold in Schedule IT

In the scaffolds view, you can schedule an attached chimney scaffold by selecting it from the second page of the menu of scaffold types. This will only allow for the throw-in walkway and access to the chimney. If required you can add a Tied tower from the scaffold menu to estimate for this element.

Tips for Estimating the Chimney Scaffold

If required you can add a Tied tower from the scaffold menu to estimate for this element. You can also add a Chimney Stack with a Tied Tower attached to it using Model IT, for further information please refer to the Adding a Chimney Stack documentation. (Coming Soon)

  2. Editing the attached chimney scaffold

Upon adding an Attached Chimney Scaffold, an additional menu is available for editing the dimensions and details. This differs from the other scaffold types which are edited in the main table.

If you wish to access the chimney scaffold’s dimension menu after it has been closed down, click on your chimney scaffold row in the table to highlight it. This will open the chimney scaffold’s dimension menu.

  3. Chimney Scaffold’s dimension menu

After opening the chimney scaffold’s dimension menu, you can edit the following dimensions and details:

Scheduling Temporary roof spans
  1. Adding the Temporary Roof in Schedule IT

You can schedule a mono pitch Temporary roof by selecting the Temporary roof scaffold on the second page of the menu of scaffold types in scaffolds view. This will only allow for a single pitched temporary roof span of beams and cladding. You will need to estimate the supporting scaffold requirements separately using the Independent scaffold type.

  2. Editing the temporary roof span

Upon adding an Attached Chimney Scaffold, an additional menu is available for editing the dimensions and details. This differs from the other scaffold types which are edited in the main table.

If you wish to access the temporary roof’s dimension menu after it has been closed down, click on your Temporary roof scaffolds row in the table to highlight it, this will open the dimension menu for the temporary roof.

  3. Temporary roof dimension menu

After opening the temporary roof’s dimension menu, you can edit the following dimensions and details:

Scheduling Manual Chimney stacks and Temporary roof scaffolds in System scaffolds:
  1. Important note on System Scaffolds

In SMART Estimator, it is not possible to add automated models or schedule items for Temporary Roof scaffolds and Chimney scaffolds for System scaffolds, such as Layher or Cuplok. For system scaffold users, we offer a manual option for both Chimney scaffolds and Temporary roof scaffolds.

  2. Adding and manually Editing the System Scaffold

On the Scaffold view screen, you can add these manual scaffolds types from the second page of the Scaffold menu (only after selecting a system scaffold configuration for the item).

Length, Height, and Width can be entered manually. However, no 3D model or material list will be generated.

  3. How can I rectify the Material Requirements?

Instead, material requirements must be manually entered using the Add extra materials option, pricing can be added in the cost analysis view, and quotation descriptions must be entered manually by hand.

For more information, please refer to adding manual scaffolds and items (coming soon) documentation.
