Lead-In Descriptions
  1. Overview of Lead-In Descriptions

    Lead-in descriptions are brief descriptions on the quotation or schedule that provide an overview of the scaffolding included in the item. Usually, Schedule IT is used for selecting a lead-in for the item, but you can also use Quote IT to select the Lead-In Description.

  2. Accessing the Lead-In Descriptions

    The first thing to do is locate the Lead-In Description SMARTText, which can usually be found in the Item Description Section of your quotation.

    When you click on it, you will be presented with the Lead-In Description Dialog Box and a list of several Lead-In Descriptions available to you.

  3. Selecting the Lead-In Descriptions

    Now you can select the Lead-In Descriptions by clicking on the Tick Boxes on the left side of the dialog. You can only select one Lead-In Description per scaffold item in the Project Browser. Once you’ve selected a Lead-In Description, click on the Green Tick to confirm your selection.

    Additionally, it’s recommended that you extend the width of the name column, so that you can view the rest of the overflowing text as shown below.

    Schedule IT: Lead-In Descriptions

    These can be selected from Quote IT, but Schedule IT is recommended for selecting a lead-in for each item. Managing lead-in descriptions through the schedule is much more organised and streamlined, especially for larger projects.

  4. Amending the Lead-In Descriptions

    You can amend the text on the Lead-In Description by clicking on the box that contains the Lead-In Description Text. From here you can make your changes. When you are satisfied with the changes, click on the Green Tick button on the top right of the dialog box to save and use your modified description.

  5. Creating your own Lead-In Descriptions

    You can also create your own Lead-In Descriptions similar to the quotation using the toolbar above, simply click on the Add Decription bottom on the Dialog to create your own Description.

    You can do basic operations such as Bolding, Italicizing and Underlining. Alongside advanced operations such as Bullet Points, Font size and type, Alignment as well as inserting images.
