SMART Compliance is a web application that runs within a browser from this link:
Once opened, you can save this link to your browser bookmarks, or you can install SMART Compliance to your device as an app, following the instructions in Installing to your device.
An up-to-date web browser is required, such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Safari for Apple devices. Also note that an internet connection is required when using the software, even after it has been installed as an app.
Compatible devices
SMART Compliance is a web application that runs within a browser on a range of compatible devices:
- Windows 11 computers and devices.
- MacOS computers.
- iPhone or iPad devices.
- Android devices.

Logging in
A SMART Scaffolder subscription account is required to log in to SMART Compliance.
This is the same email address and password that you use to log in to other SMART Scaffolder software including SMART Estimator, SMART Manager, SMART Inspector and SMART Handover.
You will need to subscribe to SMART Compliance to unlock its full features. However, even if you haven’t subscribed yet, you can log in with any SMART Scaffolder account to try SMART Compliance in its Free trial mode.

Welcome and licence acceptance
When you log in to SMART Compliance for the first time, for each subscription account on each device, you will see a Welcome page:
Press Start to continue. The End User Licence Agreement (EULA) is then displayed. Please read the terms and accept them to continue using the software.
This is achieved by ticking the checkbox at the bottom of the page and then pressing the Start button.
Free trial mode
If you have not yet added SMART Compliance to your SMART Scaffolder subscription, you will be given the option, between the Welcome page and the End User Licence Agreement, to start your free trial.
The free trial mode is not limited by time at present, so you are free to start your trial straight away and add SMART Compliance to your subscription when you are ready.

Contact us when you are ready to add SMART Compliance to your SMART Scaffolder subscription.
Some of the software features are limited in the free trial mode, in particular:
- The site location is locked to a sample address.
- Some of the scaffold dimensions are limited.
- The option to download compliance reports is unavailable.
- Advanced calculation reports are restricted.
These limitations are explained in the software when using it in trial mode, when opening a module, and with green pop-up tips, so you know what’s available in the full version.
Installing to your device
SMART Compliance can be used directly within your browser, with no need to install any software.
If you wish, you can save a bookmark to the site in your web browser to make it easy to find in future.
However, it is also possible to install the software to your computer or device as an app, which is particularly helpful on tablets and phones. An icon is created on your home screen or desktop, making SMART Compliance easy to find, and the software runs within its own app, separate from your general web browsing.
An internet connection is still required when using the software, even if you install it.
The option to install SMART Compliance is provided by browsers that allow this feature. When using a compatible browser, SMART Compliance also provides a button to install directly from its menu, making it easier to find.
Mobile User?
Note that SMART Compliance cannot be installed from the App Store or from Google Play.
Instead, just navigate to https://compliance.smartscaffolder.com and follow these instructions.
How to install
The installation method varies slightly between browsers and devices, so SMART Compliance provides an Install to device option in the navigation bar, or in the application menu when using the software on a phone.
Follow the on-screen prompt to install the software and add a shortcut to your home screen or desktop. The prompt will depend on the device and browser, but in the case of Google Chrome on Windows it appears as:
When launched as an app, SMART Compliance appears in its own frame rather than running in the browser:
It is then possible to uninstall the app from the ⋮ menu.
Installing on iOS
The option to install on iOS is available from the browser menu. Select the Share icon and choose Add to Home Screen. You may need to scroll down to find this option:
